Read CLASH!'s mission before you submit to ensure your manuscript aligns with the mission and vision to ensure your manuscript aligns with our goals.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for manuscripts that celebrate the clash of identities, cultures, and beliefs within each of us. We want work that pushes the boundaries—and even destroys them. That finds joy and power in liminality and ambiguity. That dismantles and disrupts traditional narratives. That creates a refuge for those who don’t fit into the mainstream. That finds beauty in the strange. We want to hear voices that are authentic, bold, brash, even risky. Give us your work that opens a window into your experience, and invites others inside, too. Let it clash! Let yourself clash!

We do not tolerate work that harbors racist, sexist, transphobic, homophobic, hateful, or bigoted sentiments.

  • Please submit a cover letter with a brief description of the work to be submitted, a brief biographical note, and contact information. Please include your social media handles.
  • We intend to publish a series of six chapbooks of 14 to 32 pages.
  • Accepted manuscripts will be published in 2025.
  • We are accepting manuscripts of poetry, short fiction, nonfiction, microgenres, lyric essays, hybrid genres, and visual art. We’re all about breaking boundaries, so if you don’t see a genre or combination listed here, please still send us your manuscript with a short description of the genre or combination with which you are working.
  • At the beginning of your manuscript, please include a table of contents, and an acknowledgement page listing poems that appear elsewhere, such as in journals, magazines, chapbooks, or anthologies, online or in print.  Please begin each new piece on a new page with a title.
  • Previously published collections are not accepted, including self-published collections as e-books or in print.
  • Please submit your manuscript to us in .pdf or .docx format.
  • Allow a minimum of three months for a reply.
